An integral part of the identity and mission of Redeemer Anglican Church is our partnership in reciprocal mission with the worldwide Anglican Communion, specifically the Anglican Church of Kenya. Our partnerships around the world are ones of both consistent visits and regular prayer.

Each year, we take great joy in both welcoming missionaries to our church and sending missionaries from our church. We welcome the Kenyan missionaries as our brothers and sisters in Christ by feeding, transporting, and housing them during their stay. All of their needs are taken care of as they encourage, build up, pray with, and exhort our church during their stay. Missionaries walk side-by-side with us as we seek to plant sanctuaries of transformation in every neighborhood of Chicago. We participate in the same work as missionaries to Kenya. Members of their churches house, feed, and transport us as we submit to the direction and needs of local church leaders. Together, we build up one another’s churches for the glory of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our mission is truly reciprocal.

With visits coming only several times per year, we partner with our Kenyan brothers and sisters throughout the year in intentional prayer. We lift the needs of one another to the Lord together in unity, mourning and rejoicing together. We join with our Kenyan brothers and sisters spiritually when we cannot physically.

Partnering globally connects God’s church across continents and oceans so that we may learn from one another, encourage one another, and build one another up (1 Thess. 5:11). We seek to follow the words of Peter: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:8-10).
